  • a careful approach to electrical safety
  • good practical skills with hand and power tools
  • patience for tracking down faults and explaining fixes to customers

What will you learn?

You learn to run and terminate cabling at customer premises, work on optical and wireless networks, build and mount antennas and masts, and track down faults when a service stops working. Electrical safety runs through the whole course, along with the practical side of dealing with customers on site. There are no formal entry requirements, so it suits school leavers and career changers, though rigging and dogging work needs a high risk work licence.
