What will you learn?

You learn how local government is structured and regulated, how to deliver and keep an eye on services to residents, how to spot and manage risk, how to carry out work health and safety duties, and how to communicate well with the public and with colleagues. It suits someone already working for a council who wants to move into a supervisory or specialist role, such as a ranger, local laws officer or rates officer, and career changers who want a way in. There are no entry requirements, so you can enrol without prior study or council experience.
