To be prepared for this course, it helps to have:

- a willingness to work outdoors in all weather
- good communication skills for working in a team
- an eye for detail when checking plants and equipment
What will you learn?
Study covers the practical side of that work: keeping pests and disease off a property, following health and safety rules, and meeting the quality standards buyers and exporters expect. The roles it leads to include field worker, seeding operator, irrigation and machinery maintainer and leading hand, and the work calls for judgement about equipment, resources and what to do when something goes wrong. No prior study or experience is needed to start.
